Flag Football

4th-6th grade, Co-ed, (Sept-Oct)

Welcome to flag football! My name is Brian Samuelson and I will be coaching flag football for grades 4-6 this season. The season will begin on September 21st, so we will begin practices the week before starting on September 13th. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays

from 4:30-5:30pm. We will meet for practice on the front field by the kindergarten classrooms. Games will be held every Wednesday during the season and played at Isador Cohen Elementary School. The game schedule has not been released yet, so I will inform athletes and parents once I know. Athletes, please have your parents come to the first day of practice to meet me and ask any questions. I look forward to working with you.

Thank you,

Brian

Cross Country:

4th-8th Grade, Co-ed (Sept-Oct)

First practice Sept. 6th before school 7:30-8:30am.

Practices will be Mon/Wed Mornings 7:30-8:30am. (Except where there is a Monday holiday, then we’ll have Tues/Wed). We’ll meet at the school and either stay there or go to Lincoln Village Park depending on our training needs. All kids of all abilities 4th and above are welcome.  Please remember to send kids with extra water or at least a bottle so they can fill up! Extra fruit and protein snacks on these days would be a good idea too. Kids can eat breakfast together in the cafeteria or at tables outside.

Any questions, text Candace 916-764-0818 or email healthcoach.candacecarlson@gmail.com

Volleyball:

Dragonfly Volleyball

7th & 8th Grade, co-ed, (Sept-Mid Nov)

The volleyball team will focus on developing players' volleyball skills, cohesiveness as a team, and love for the game. More than many sports, volleyball emphasizes functioning as a team. At any given moment, all six players on the court are involved in the play. The team cannot rely on a star pitcher or point guard to be successful, but must instead work together to keep the ball "flying," as the name "volleyball" suggests. Our work together will help athletes gain strength physically and mentally, and will be lots of fun!

  • There will be no try-outs. All who attend practice regularly will participate in games played against other junior high school teams in the district.

  • Practice is 3:30-4:30pm Tuesdays and Fridays in the AM Winn cafeteria or at George Washington Carver High School.

  • Games are Mondays and Wednesdays at 3:45pm starting Wed, Sept 13. Athletes will be dismissed early and carpool to away games. Home games will be played at AM Winn or Carver.

  • Athletes will be provided with a uniform, knee pads and volleyball equipment.

Would you like to join the team? Print and fill out this info sheet, and/or see Joanna Gallagher
