Are you interested in volunteering at school but feel like there are too many steps? It's easier than it looks and we are happy to walk you through the process -- The Guild will even pay for your TB testing and fingerprint scans!
How to Become a Volunteer
We want as many parents to volunteer on campus as possible so you and your children can benefit from being involved. Please see the Volunteer Process Step-by-Step Instructions (Google Doc) for a full overview on how to become cleared to volunteer on campus. Here is a short breakdown of the approval process:
Pick up a volunteer packet in the A.M. Winn (AMW) office, complete the forms, and return them to the AMW office.
Complete fingerprinting with results provided to Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD).
Provide proof of negative TB test.
Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Complete online volunteer training.
Once you have finished these steps, you are good to go -- We can't wait to see you at school! Please contact the main office with any questions at (916) 395-4505 or rucha-powers@scusd.edu.

Class Reps Needed
Every class at our school selects 1 or 2 class parents to serve as “class reps” for the school year. This responsibility usually rotates each year or two among classroom parents.
The class rep helps the teacher coordinate the efforts of classroom parents and co-signs all requests to use money from the classroom account. The class reps also attend monthly Guild meetings to provide input and represent the families in your child’s classroom, and to report back to your teacher and other parents on things happening schoolwide.
If you are interested in helping your child’s teacher in this way, please reach out to them!
